The objective of the Lafayette Bar Association is to assist its members in the practice of law to better advertise the administration of justice, uphold the integrity of the courts and the legal profession, maintain the moral principles of attorneys through continuing legal education, promote public understanding of and respect for the law and influence collegiality among its members. Memberships are active from January 1st of every year to December 31st, upon which date you can complete a renewal to continue your membership. Who Can Become A Member? All licensed attorneys that are considered in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar Association can become members of the Lafayette Bar Association. Member Types There are multiple member types to choose from including Private Practice, Government/Public Service, and Newly Admitted to Practice. If you are a newly admitted to practice, please contact the Lafayette Bar Association before completing a membership application so that you can receive your first year as a member free of charge. Become A Member You can become a member by completing a Membership Application.
